Carnival Make Up Tutorials That We Love

Sharine Taylor

Since Caribana, Cropover, Spice Mas, Notting Hill Carnival and the Labour Day Parade are all right around the corner, it’s time to start thinking about what you want yout makeup look to consist of. Sugar Isle offers a handful of options (with more on the way!), but how do you decide the best look for you? It’s likely you’re going to want something bold and bright to go along with your costume and all the other looks you have planned. We rounded up a few of our favourite Carnival makeup tutorials, because it’s impossible to get enough the shimmer, sparkles and bright hues.

While going for an exact hue match might be tempting, think of complimentary shades instead. For example, If your costume is mostly lime green with pops of turquoise, blue and shocking red like Saldenah’s sold out section, Mi Amor it might be best to gravitate towards shades of red and blue as opposed to the lime green. At the same time, carnival is the perfect time to think outside the box - so a well-executed monochromatic look might be just what you need.
